The aXs-arm™ Universal Swingarm was conceived during the long weekend in October 2000.

The wagon was loaded full of luggage, and the bikes on the aftermarket carrier for all the family.

One last check, and we were off, where finally we were on our way to a relaxing weekend away from the city.

All was well until we found ourselves with a sick baby, forcing us to make a pit stop by the side of the road. To help the young one, we needed access to our luggage to get the necessary supplies.

Access was blocked by a cargo barrier from inside the wagon and a bike carrier, full of bikes, was the major obstacle in getting the stop over quickly. After what seemed an eternity, we had all the bikes and the rack off the back of the wagon, and were able to get in and get what we needed.

With the bikes back on, we headed off again.

After this ordeal, we stopped a little further on at a roadhouse for a break, and again required access to the rear of the vehicle, that’s right … again!!!

Off came the bikes.

At about this time, I knew there had to be a better way, and knew I would find it, as necessity is the mother of invention.

With pen, paper and imagination, the aXs-arm™ Universal Swing Arm was born.

A further two years of refinement and registry of a patent saw the aXs-arm™ Universal Swing Arm debut on the market.
